Troubleshooting - External screens turn off when shutting laptop lid

Troubleshooting - External screens turn off when shutting laptop lid

By default, the laptop will go to sleep when the lid is closed. Below are the steps to update the settings to stop the laptop from sleeping when the lid closes.

  1. Click the Start button and search by typing "Lid does"
  2. Open the option "Change what closing the lid does"
  3. Under the Plugged In column, adjust the bottom option to be Do Nothing for when the lid closes
  4. Save Changes in the bottom right
(We recommend only adjusting this setting for when Plugged In. Otherwise, your laptop will remain on even when not connected to the dock, which might cause some overheating issues)
