Troubleshooting sound issues with Teams

This guide is to assist with issues where Microsoft Teams is either sending sound through the speaker, or not at all--

1. In the bottom right corner of your screen, please check that the sound is not muted. If it is muted, an 'X' will appear in the speaker icon.

2. Once you've confirmed the device is not muted, open up Teams and click on the bubble with your initials in the top right corner and then click 'Manage account.'

3. Now navigate to ‘Devices,’ followed by the ‘Speaker’ drop down menu.

4. Now select the correct sound source in the drop-down menu.

5. We’ll now want to exit out of Settings and change the computers audio output. Right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and select 'Open sound settings.'

6. Once the 'Sound' window pops up, take a look at the drop down menu under 'Choose your output device.' Make sure this option matches the location you want sound coming from.

7. Now check Teams and see if audio is coming from the correct location/ at all.
