Updating Cellphone Apps

How to update apps in Google Play Store:

  1. Open the Play Store app and click on the gray circle in the top right
  2. Select Manage Apps & Device
  3. Click Update All under the Updates Available section
  4. The phone will complete its updates automatically from there

How to set up automatic app updates:

  1. Open the Play Store app and click on the gray circle in the top right
  2. Select Settings then Network Preferences
  3. Click on the App download preference and confirm it is set for "Over any network"
  4. Then click on Auto-Update Apps and confirm it is set to "Over any network" as well
  5. Done! The phone will automatically look for updates once a day

  1. Restart your phone at least once a week
  2. Close open apps at the end of the day - To close app, click the three vertical lines in the bottom right of the phone and select Close All
Automatic updates only work when the app is closed. So be sure to close apps periodically
